AutoRoam™ gives you the freedom to use your BEST telecom mobile in more than 170 countries – as easily as you do at home, day or night. There’s no need for expensive hotel phones or the inconvenience of public phones. Importantly, your mobile number doesn’t change, which means your contacts can call you without having to remember another number. Depending on your overseas carrier, you may still be able to screen your incoming calls and divert those you don’t want to answer to voicemail. As an BEST telecom Post-Paid customer on the Optus network, you can: - SMS ‘A’ to 321 and VoiceMail will call you back (standard roaming charges apply) or
- Access VoiceMail by calling +61 4 1100 0321 (international call charges apply)
- For general or billing enquiries while overseas, please call Optus Customer Care on +61 7 56677119.
- For faults with your mobile phone, you can call +61 7 56677119 (optus 4) for assistance. The Mobile Technical Support Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For your convenience, all your overseas charges are billed back to your Optus account in Australian dollars.
AutoRoam™ is not automatically activated on monthly-billed Mobile Plan accounts. However, you may have been sent an SMS from us notifying you that roaming has been enabled on your account. If you have not been notified or are not sure whether Roaming is activated on your account, please contact us before you leave Australia.
When you make a call or send an SMS you will be charged the rate for the zone you are in. When someone calls you (from Australia or overseas), they will be charged the normal cost of a call or SMS to an Optus mobile in Australia. You pay Optus' zone rate for receiving calls in the country you are roaming in, as below. If a received call is diverted to VoiceMail because you do not answer or because your phone is busy, you will also be charged the international call rate for the applicable zone to divert the caller back to your VoiceMail box in Australia.
